Electromagnetic Flowmeters
The Non-Intrusive Solution for Precise Flow Measurement
The Magnetic flowmeter is ideal for improving accuracy, decreasing system maintenance and meeting the demands of challenging liquid conditions. Both the Badger Meter and Flow Technology electromagnetic meters deliver the performance your critical flow measurement applications require.
For the precision you need, our magnetic flowmeters are designed to achieve ± 0.25 percent accuracy. In addition, the non-intrusive, completely open flow tube design virtually eliminates pressure loss. And with no moving parts to impede the flow stream, maintenance is kept to a minimum – even in less than ideal fluid conditions.
A magnetic flowmeter works by using Faraday’s Induction Principle as follows. A conductor moving through a magnetic field produces a voltage. The conductor is actually the fluid to be measured, and so the voltage produced is directly proportional to the flow velocity. This means that there is nothing to obstruct the flow.
Thanks to a wide variety of size configurations, liner materials and connection options, you can use Badger Meter mag meters just about anywhere – on potable meter lines, in fluids with suspended solids and in a wide range of commercial and industrial applications that require exacting liquid measurement. The meters are independent of density, temperature and pressure. They are suitable for applications such as machinery plants, vehicles and batching processes. Types are available for use in the water and waste water industries, and a sanitary model is produced for the flow measurement of liquid food.
