Product Take-Back and Recycle Program

Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd runs a formal product disposal Take-Back and Recycle Program in Europe that complies with the European Union Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment, also known as the “WEEE Directive”. In the UK this requirement is defined by Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013.

This program will provide self-service instructions for ease-of-use product take-back and recycling. Equipment that is returned through this program will be handled in an environmentally safe manner using processes that meet or exceed the WEEE Directive requirements. This program is for Phoenix Flow Measurement customers who have flowmeters that have been supplied by Phoenix Flow Measurement that have reached the end of life.

Programme guidelines are as follows:

  1. Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd will accept Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd branded or supplied flow meters, with or without the standard WEEE “dust-bin” symbol.
  2. Return of electrical and electronic equipment requires Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd authorization prior to return.
  3. If the flow meter to be returned is a system that requires dismantling, the customer will be responsible for all expenses associated with the dismantling and removal of the system.

  • those that are manufactured by Phoenix Flow Measurement or

Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd.’s program provides Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd customers an environmentally responsible solution for the return and recycling of your Phoenix Flow Measurement technology assets that is compliant with current and forthcoming regional regulations. The Phoenix Flow Measurement Recycle Program is easy to use. It has been structured to make the treatment, recovery, and recycling of Phoenix Flow Measurement flowmeters environmentally sound and cost effective. It relieves the user of the responsibility managing out-dated or used equipment. Just follow these easy steps to get started:

  1. Identify the equipment that you want to return to Phoenix Flow Measurement
  2. De-install and pack your equipment :
    1. If applicable, batteries removed
    2. If applicable, data removed
  3. Contact Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd to arrange for return or pick-up.

    A.The program is currently available in the European Union. Please contact us for availability in your location.
  • Q. How is the Phoenix Flow Measurement Recycle Program managed?
    A. The program enables Phoenix Flow Measurement customers to ship Phoenix Flow Measurement flowmeters or flow meter equipment to a designated location for treatment, recovery and recycling purposes.
  • Q. What happens to the equipment that gets returned?
    A.The equipment that is returned to Phoenix Flow Measurement through this program will be handled in an environmentally safe manner through processes that comply with all applicable electronic waste regulations.
  • Q. Who pays the recycling and transport costs?
    A. Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd pays all recycling fees and transport costs.
  • Q. What is my business’s liability for product that is returned through this program?
    A. For all equipment that is returned through this program indemnifying you against liability (or releasing your business from any further liability for the equipment). Upon return Phoenix Flow Measurement assumes that users complied to Member State’s legislation with respect to safety, hazardous substances, etc.
  • Q. What flowmeters are included in this service?
    A. Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd will accept Phoenix Flow Measurement supplied flow meters in the eligible countries. Competitor branded equipment will only be accepted on a one-for-one basis at time of purchase of similar Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd equipment.

Note: The terms “disposal”, “disposed of”, and “handling” refer to the treatment, recovery, recycling and environmentally sound disposal of Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd equipment that is being discarded.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Customers accept the following terms and conditions when they submit a Recycle request: The returned product may not be contaminated with substances that may be hazardous to health or harmful to the environment.
  2. The customer is responsible for the deletion of any sensitive data and removal of any battery contained in or on devices or data carriers that are returned to Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd.
  3. Packaging Condition – all flowmeters are to be packed and ready for pick-up, boxed and labelled with the Return Authorization Number.
  4. Recycle Fees – Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd will pay all recycling fees related to the treatment, recovery, recycling and environmentally sound disposal of flow meters submitted through this program.
  5. Transport costs:
    1. End-users: You will be asked to return flow meters to a pre-defined address at Phoenix Flow Measurement’s expense.
    2. Distributors: Based upon volume, consolidated either >100 kg or 1 m3, with a maximum frequency of once a month — Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd will arrange pick up.
  6. Assignment – the End User Customer assigns all rights in the title and treatment, recovery, recycling and environmentally sound disposal of the recycle product to Phoenix Flow Measurement, free and clear of any future encumbrances. The End User Customer warrants that they have clear and merchantable title to the product being shipped to Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd.
  7. Customer will be responsible for any costs incurred if incorrect flowmeters are identified and sent for shipment.
  8. Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd is not responsible for any product shipped in error and makes no guarantees that such product can be returned to the Customer.
  9. Customer is held responsible to apply the instructions sent. If not, Phoenix Flow Measurement Ltd is not held responsible when those instruments end up in other collective schemes.
